Himalaje nepalskie są domem dla 8-ośmiu najwyższych na świecie szczytów. Nepal był świadkiem znakomitych dokonań w światowych wyprawach wspinaczkowych, ponieważ posiada aż 1310 szczytów powyżej 6000 m. Wspinaczka w Himalajach jest marzeniem wielu alpinistów i wędrowców z całego świata. Tylko w kilku miejscach na całym świecie można znaleźć tak fascynujące szczyty i zjawiskowe piękno natury. Duża ilość himalajskich szczytów była od zawsze celem podróży dla alpinistów, szczególnie od kiedy Nepal otworzył swoje granice dla ruchu turystycznego w 1949 r, nepalskie Himalaje stały się wielkim teatrem alpinizmu. Obserwowały sukcesy i dramaty tysięcy śmiałków, którzy chcieli się zmierzyć z tak potężnymi górami.
Początkujący alpiniści uprawiać trekking w połączeniu ze wspinaczką w regionie Everestu, Annapurny i Langtang oraz wielu innych regionów Nepalu. Najpopularniejszymi szczytami do trekkingu są: Island Peak, Mera Peak, Lobuche East Peak, Kyajo RI peak w rejonie Everestu, Nayakanga Peak w regionie Langtang i Pisang Peak, Singuchuli Peak, Tharpu Chuli Peak w rejonie Annapurna.
